L.A. Clippers punished by NBA for Cap Circumvention.

The Los Angeles Clippers have been punished by the NBA today for violations of the salary cap back in 2022 when the team signed superstar Kawhi Leonard.

• The Clippers have been stripped of their 2029, 2030, 2031, 2032, and 2033 first round draft picks.

• The team has been fined $30 million.

• Steve Ballmer, owner of the Clippers, has been suspended from the league for one year.

• Gillian Zucker, President of Business Operations, is suspended without pay for one year.

• Lawrence Frank, President of Basketball Operations, is suspended without pay for six months.

• Kawhi Leonard, who has spent the past 8 years with the Clippers before likely to complete a trade to go back to Toronto here in the next few days, was fined $700,000.

Leonard, through his new agent, Harrison Gaines has accepted "full responsibility" for actions taken by those within his inner circle and had no knowledge or intent to circumvent the cap.

The Clippers have stated they intend to challenge the findings and have now questioned the fairness and present bias in the investigation by Wachtell Lipton, the New York law firm who conducted the investigation.
